"It's just like Christmas", 20.01.2010
Germany's Olympians have until February 5 to get kitted out at the military airbase in Erding. The athletes will be given some 60 items of clothing, shoes, bags and accessories for the Games, due to begin February 12, at twelve stalls in a large gymnasium. "It's just like Christmas," said short-track skater Aika Klein as she picked up compression stockings at the Bauerfeind stand.

The team’s services were in greater demand this year than at any other Games.

Even so it was the best run of her career since she ran her own personal best. „That was fantastic. I am very happy“ she said. Her roommate Antje Möldner experienced the same.

Early on Tuesday morning at 12:45 loud calls for Bauerfeind were heard coming from the garden outside the German headquarters. The team physician for the women’s handball team came running into the orthopedic service station to fetch the members of the supply team. “We need to get a rigid splint from you right away.” When asked who the athlete was, the answer was Waldemar Hartmann.
