CO-PARTNER GERMANY
Athen 2004
Bauerfeind accompanied the Olympic athletes on their way to Athens. Athletes and coaches received their official Olympic clothing at the clothing distribution in Mainz. Many athletes took the opportunity to learn about the use and mode of action of Bauerfeind products.
Our six person service team took care of athletes in the German pavilion and at the training and competition sites. In addition to orthopedic technicians, physical therapists were also available. Strains and injuries are not uncommon in competition. The athletes as well as the team physicians and physical therapists utilized the Bauerfeind service many times. In addition, many took the opportunity to learn about our newly developed products including the digital foot pressure measuring system MediLogic and the compression stocking measuring device Image 3D.

Voices from Athen
Marijana Markovic, fencing world champion with the Women’s epee team 2003 in Havana and participant in the summer Olympic Games in Athens:
“The insole care with the MediLogic foot pressure measuring system was a complete success for me! My Achilles tendon pain was noticeably relieved. After fitting the insole in my training shoes I had a very comfortable and secure feeling when walking.”
Jurij Kohl, wrestler and participant in the summer Olympic games in Athens:
“After my Olympic qualification I injured my cruciate ligament. Treatment with GenuTrain P3 helped me to start training again after a stabilizing phase. Now I wear GenuTrain every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s in training or competition – I’m not going to the mat again without my knee support.”
Dr. Volker Jägemann, long-time team physician for the national wrestling team:
“The use of Train active supports, whether during free time or competition, results in a noticeably reduced intake of pain relievers in most cases. Prescribing these supports is an integral part of my daily work.”
Klaus Eder, chief physical therapist for the German Olympic teams:
“When an injury occurs rest is necessary and activity must be limited. In these cases Bauerfeind’s service and material more than meets our high demands, but doesn’t hinder the athletes. I’ve been working with Bauerfeind products for a long time and have had very good experiences with them.”
